I'm having a complete brain fart and don't feel that my opening paragraph is strong at all During the classical period, China as a whole underwent many changes from its earlier river valley civilizations.

The Chinese culture began to develop a more unified government system that was connected more directly to Chinese philosophy, economics, and the family structure. In India a lot of energy was focused on religion and the social structure. However, both civilizations shared patriarchal views and were agricultural societies.
